Introduction
Founded in 1994, Rudolph Blume Fine Art / ArtScan Gallery specializes in contemporary art by artists of different generations. The Gallery is active in both the primary and secondary markets.
In the primary sector, Rudolph Blume Fine Art / Artscan Gallery champions and exhibits work in a broad spectrum of contemporary artistic practice, from Conceptual works to large-scale installation and time-based performances. The program’s emphasis lies with emerging and mid-career artists. The Gallery is home to innovative, singular, and pioneering exhibitions across a variety of media and genres, including painting, sculpture, photography, video, drawing and printmaking.
In the secondary market, the gallery presents historically researched exhibitions devoted to the work of modern and contemporary masters.
The gallery has also been recognized by the Houston Press as “The Best Houston Art Gallery.” In addition to our visual artistic program, the gallery regularly hosts concerts, book receptions, poetry readings, as well as art exhibitions and special events to benefit various community organizations.
*I would also like to take a moment to address the issue of financial support for Houston residents. People often find themselves in situations where they lack the funds even to cover medical expenses. In such cases, short-term loans—available to residents of Houston as well as other cities across Texas—can provide a lifeline. While these loans are expensive (with interest and fees potentially adding 20–50% to the cost over a single month), they are sometimes a necessity.
